In 1970, through the joint efforts of two people, the first traction pulley of Montanari lift parts came into being and gathered a group of like-minded people with lofty ideals, from which Montanari launched a glorious course of 50 years. With the hard work of every employee, Montanari moved from the small garage in Via Cile to the new plant in Via Allende in just 8 years, and developed the first geared tractor, the M78.
To expand overseas markets, Montanari has entered a period of rapid development

Montanari has reached an important milestone in expanding its product line

By the end of 1990, the company’s product line continued to expand, with a total of 12 different types of elevator tractors developed to provide customers and market operators with more solutions to meet their individual needs. It was an important milestone for Montanari.

In 1991, adhering to the principle of quality first, Montanari began to strictly control every link from raw materials to finished products, while continuously focusing on the development and design of high performance and easy to install and maintain products. In the same year, Montanari officially launched a new geared tractor, the M73, which was loved by customers around the world. At the beginning of 2000, the era of gearless tractor officially came. Montanari introduced the new MDD gearless tractor to meet the new demand of the elevator market. After more than 30 years of development, Montanari’s factory scale has expanded to 32,000 square meters.
Montanari Drive Technology (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd was established
At this time, Montanari found that in Southeast Asian markets, the Indian economy was growing at an astonishing rate, and a lot of investments were pouring into Indian infrastructure construction. It quickly set up a branch in India in 2008. In 2016, Montanari set its sights on the Chinese market and established Montanari Drive Technology (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd. in Pinghu, Zhejiang, with the aim to provide better quality elevator tractors and related components for the Chinese elevator and escalator market.
With strong production capacity and rich experience in elevator parts manufacturing, Montanari has grown from strength to strength. Today, Montanari Group production base has reached more than 70,000 square meters, producing more than 60,000 machines for the global elevator market each year. More importantly, all the elevator tractors and related parts of the Group have maintained the characteristics of “high quality, reliability and durability”, fully showing the excellent quality of “Made in Italy”, and have won the long-term trust of many international famous elevator brands.
